You were not created to be separated from God.
 

"Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." -Genesis 1:26–27

Deep down, many people know something is missing. No matter how much success, pleasure, money, relationships, or distractions fill life, there is still an emptiness inside.

That is because humanity was created to know God.
 

"Because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."  - Romans 1:19–20

But sin separates people from God. Every person has sinned and fallen short of God’s standard. 

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23

Guilt, shame, fear, pride, lust, anger, addiction, brokenness, and spiritual emptiness are evidence that something inside humanity is not right. Many people try to fill that emptiness through good works, money, pleasure, success, or self-improvement, but none of those things can restore the relationship with God that was lost. Everyone is a sinner who needs a savior. That savior is Jesus Christ.

The Bible warns that those who reject Jesus Christ remain separated from God and under condemnation for their sins.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." - Revelation 20:15 

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” — John 3:18

That is why Jesus Christ came into the world. To pay the debt for all sin and offer eternal life to all who believe and put their faith in Him. He was the Messiah foretold about in the Old Testament.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." — John 3:16-17

The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to save sinners. Jesus lived a sinless life, shed His atoning blood on the cross for the forgiveness of sins, was crucified, died, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, God made a way for humanity to be forgiven and reconciled to Him. (1 Corinthians 15:1–4)

Salvation is a free gift, given by God’s grace, through a person’s belief and faith in Jesus Christ.

You have to trust what Jesus accomplished through His death, burial, resurrection, and the shedding of His blood on the cross.

A person is not saved through living a life full of good works.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." — Ephesians 2:8–9

Each person must personally respond to the Gospel through placing their belief and faith in Jesus Christ. 

The Bible describes repentance as a sincere change of mind and heart that turns a person toward God. The Greek word metanoeō is translated as “to repent” and literally means “to change one’s mind.” Rather than continuing to reject Christ, a person turns to Jesus Christ in faith and places their trust in His finished work on the cross for eternal salvation.

Salvation is a personal relationship with God through belief and faith in Jesus Christ.  This guarantees eternal salvation with Him and once saved always saved. 

Do you wish to be Saved and have Eternal Life? 

If so, place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ and call upon Him to save you. When asking it's important to remember that a prayer doesn't save you - but rather your belief and faith in Jesus Christ that does. Praying or declaring is simply the means by which you are asking and/or professing this newly founded faith. 

If you truly believe Jesus shed His precious blood, died, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures and you place all trust and faith in Him alone, then the Bible says you are born again. Being born again means you are saved from eternal damnation and that your sins are forgiven.

Just like you had a physical birth when you were born, you can now have a spiritual birth. 

If you understand you are a sinner in need of a savior, truly believe and trust in Jesus' finished work on the cross that made a way for you to have eternal life, then you can call upon Jesus Christ right now in faith and ask Him to save you. 

"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  -Romans 10:9-13

Through faith in Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven, you are reconciled to God, and you now begin a new life and relationship with Him!

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ and have been born again, welcome to the family of God! Praise God! 

Believers are also encouraged to be baptized as an outward expression of their faith in Jesus Christ and their new life in Him. In the Bible, people first came to faith in Jesus Christ and then were baptized as a public declaration of their faith and obedience to Him. Baptism does not save a person, but it is an important step of obedience for believers.

"Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?" Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him." — Acts 8:36-38

LIFE CHANGE AFTER PLACING FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST

When a person places their faith in Jesus Christ, the Bible teaches that they are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise." - Ephesians 1:13

Salvation is not a license to continue living for the world, but the beginning of a new life in Jesus Christ.  While Christians still struggle with sin and temptation, they should strive for spiritual growth and a desire to follow God's ways rather than the ways of this world. 

Through prayer, reading the Bible, fellowship with other believers, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, believers grow in faith, wisdom, and spiritual understanding. Christians should strive to become more Christ-like in their thoughts, words, and actions as they continue growing in their faith.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." — Ephesians 2:10

Again, good works do not save us, but they are evidence of a changed life and growing faith in Jesus Christ.

Christians are called to serve God, love others, and live in a way that reflects their faith. Which means, some of us have to avoid certain people, places, and things that cause us to sin. 

“That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness." — Ephesians 4:22–24

"For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."   — Matthew 26:28

"Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."  — Romans 5:9

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,  that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."  — Titus 3:5-7 

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace." — Ephesians 1:7

"And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission." — Hebrews 9:22

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."  — John 5:24

"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood."  — Rev 1:5

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."  — 1 John 1:7

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” — Acts 3:19 

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."  — 1 Peter 1:18-19

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life...” — 1 John 5:13

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” — John 14:6
