You were not created to be separated from God. (Genesis 1:26–27)
Deep down, you know something isn’t right. No matter what you achieve or chase, something is still missing.
That’s because you were created to know God (Romans 1:19–20), but something has separated you from Him.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
Sin is not just mistakes. It is rebellion against God.
For the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)
Sin separates you from God now and eternally.
From the very beginning, God showed that sin requires a blood sacrifice, and that one day a perfect sacrifice would come.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood… it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. (Leviticus 17:11)
In the Old Testament, God commanded animal sacrifices for sin (Leviticus 4:13–35):
These sacrifices could never take away sin. They only covered it temporarily.
Which can never take away sins. (Hebrews 10:11)
They pointed forward to something greater.
Jesus Christ came as the final and perfect sacrifice, the Messiah promised in the Old Testament (Isaiah 9:6–7).
Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. (John 1:29)
He lived a sinless life (1 Peter 2:22) and went to the cross to shed His blood for your sins.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. (Ephesians 1:7)
Unlike animal sacrifices:
Offered one sacrifice for sins for ever. (Hebrews 10:12)
You cannot earn salvation.
For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8–9)
Salvation is not:
It is God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. (Acts 16:31)
The Gospel is:
Christ died for our sins… was buried… and rose again the third day according to the scriptures. (1 Corinthians 15:1–4)
God shows that salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood. (Romans 3:25)
This is the Gospel you must believe.
If you understand and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ explained above, recognize that you are a sinner in need of a Savior, and place your faith in Jesus Christ, the Bible says you are saved.
Why?
Because of your faith in Jesus Christ and His precious blood.
He shed His blood, and there is power in His blood.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. (Ephesians 1:7)
Some express this faith through a prayer, which many consider "calling upon the name of the Lord:"
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
What matters most is this if you pray to ask:
You are placing all of your faith in Jesus Christ because of what He did for you on the cross because you are a sinner in need of a savior:
This is the Gospel you must believe.
There is nothing wrong if you want to pray to ask, but the prayer doesn't save you.
Your faith in Jesus Christ and his precious shed blood does. You need to understand this.
If you have believed the Gospel and placed your faith in Jesus Christ and his precious blood:
Praise be to God! You are saved!
AMEN.
